Beautiful holiday cottage, steeped in history, sympathetically renovated and fabulous owners

Willy Wilcox was the perfect holiday escape post lockdown. I was lucky enough to secure a booking in this historic harbour side cottage and travelled down with my husband and 3 friends the last week in May 2021. We all fell in love with Willy Wilcox - from the scones and clotted cream that welcomed us on arrival, to the tasteful & beautiful interior, the comfortable pillowy beds, the picturesque roof terrace and being right next to the beach and in the heart of Polperro. Our three border dogs (two terriers and one Collie) were in their element being able to romp on the beach each day and explore the cave under Willy’s - and we enjoyed watching the daily wild swimmers hit the sea in their wet suits (we weren’t brave enough to join them - but will next time!). We opted for a lazy break and ate our evening meal out each day and were thoroughly spoilt by the food and the warm hospitality at both the Blue Peter and Three Pilchards pub both just a minutes walk away. The Three Pilchards especially is worth a trip to for their crab salad and roof terrace with views across Polperro. Thank you Amanda and John for offering such a special place to stay. We’ll be back!
